Nya's Project Puts the "A" In STEM and Makes STEAM

Learning Through Dance

There are many techniques used today to help children learn.  If you've kept up with how science, technology, engineering and math are changing the way students learn, then you know especially if you are an educator, you must think outside of the box.

(See Nya's Book Store)

Fortunately we decided to add the "A" and make the art of dance  work for us.  We've added tap dance, cheer, and ballet to our already challenging schedule.

My daughter, Nyosha Ruffin is using her professional talent and gift of dance to support me in making Nya's Project an educational success.

Just knowing dance is waiting for them after a hard days work, our little girls give their all.

Summer Enrichment

As of June 1st, due to budget constraints, Math, Reading and Tap are the only classes offered.

Spaces are limited!  So secure your child's place by making a non-refundable $45 deposit to www.paypal.me/ExhaletoExcel.  Now $20 non-refundable deposit.

Nya's Project introduces our summer STEM/STEAM program,

"Math and Tap".  (Just added Reading)

Math and Tap is designed to provide basic and intermediate tap classes that is guaranteed to fuel the body and the mind.  In essence, the new moves are sure to spark confidence as well as serve as a much needed energy booster while increasing the desire for learning.  At this time, Math is the subject we are choosing to focus on.   However, in the near future we will add Science, Technology, and Engineering to the classroom and to the dance floor.

About Us:

We are a mother (Nikki) and daughter (Nene) team dedicated to implementing conventional methods to educate "our" children.  This team is professional, educated, and are passionate mothers with over 15 years of experience in education and dance.

About Math and Tap:

"Combining dance with other curriculum areas, such as math, is a student-centered (STEM/STEAM) approach that helps kinesthetic learners to better understand required class material."
                                  https://www.edutopia.org/stw-arts-integration-reform-overview

Nya's Project Summer Enrichment is open to 8 to 10 girls ages 5 to 9 years.  Although girls are our target market, we will not turn away any boy who has a passion for STEM and tap.  There is room for learning here.  Again, we pride ourselves on being professional, educated, and passionate mothers.

Each day (Mon - Fri/9am - 230pm) will be filled with activity that includes:  math, tap, and reading.  Meals will not be provided due to health guidelines.  Therefore, parents must have a balanced lunch, with minimal preparation, readily available. Also, each student should have tap shoes by the second day of learning.

All behavior or physical impairments (to include allergies) have to be addressed in their entirety on day one.  Unruly children will not be permitted to remain in class nor will a refund be given.

$20 deposit per child is due with application, $50 due on the 1st day of class; $50 is due each Monday morning; For families with two or more children attending - the weekly rate is $35 for the second and third child.

Payment is due whether the child is present or not.

Thank you,

Nikki Ruffin-Smith
